Privacy Policy

The short version

Hearth & Home Radio doesn't collect, store, or transmit any personal information about you. No accounts. No analytics. No advertising trackers. No third-party SDKs. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

What the app does

Hearth & Home Radio streams old-time radio episodes from public-domain audio libraries. You can favorite episodes, mark them as listened, and download them for offline playback.

What the app stores on your device

• Your favorites, listening history, and download status (stored locally using an on-device database)
• Audio files you choose to download (stored in your app's private downloads folder)
• App preferences such as playback speed and sleep-timer defaults

None of this leaves your phone.

What the app sends over the internet

The app makes anonymous HTTPS requests to third-party audio servers to:

• Look up which radio shows are available
• Stream or download the MP3 files you select

These requests carry a generic User-Agent string and your phone's IP address — the same information any web browser sends when visiting a website. The privacy policies of the upstream audio servers apply to those requests.

Data we don't collect

We do not collect:

• Your name, email, phone number, or any identifier
• Your location
• Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
• Crash logs or analytics events
• Advertising IDs
• Listening habits, favorites, or any other in-app behavior

Children's privacy

The app contains no content directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone. The app is rated for general audiences.

Permissions

On Android, the app requests:

• Internet access — to stream audio
• Foreground service / wake lock — to keep audio playing when the screen is off
• Notifications — to show playback controls in the notification shade

On iOS, the app uses the background audio entitlement so playback continues when the screen turns off. We do not request location, microphone, camera, contacts, or any other sensitive permission.

Changes to this policy

If we ever start collecting data — we currently have no plans to — we will update this policy and disclose what we collect and why. Continued use of the app after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
